Ah, Valentine’s day, love or hate it, we all just want to do something romantic or fun on this day (no matter how much you pretend to hate it). Deciding what to do can be difficult, especially when you need to book weeks in advance just to get a reservation at a restaurant. Moreover, not every couple is the dinner type. Every couple is different and I get that, that’s why I’ve come up with some date ideas for every type of couple.
The Homebodies
Why leave the comforts of home when you have all the makings for a perfect Valentine’s date right there. Though don’t just order some pizza, grab a cheap bottle of wine and sit on the couch watching movies, instead get creative. Make your favourite dinner together and splurge on a bottle of more expensive wine and have a proper sit-down meal together at home. You’ll get to have all the comforts of home but have an added spice to it. If you need meal ideas, check out Brooklyn’s post (here).
The Traditionalists
Don’t let the reservations and line ups deter you. If you love going out for dinner on Valentine’s Day then do it, but try and change it up a bit. Is there a restaurant you’ve been dying to try but found it might be too expensive? Ditch the gifts and use it towards an expensive restaurant you’ve been wanting to try. It’s traditional without being boring! You can even branch out and try a cooking class together it has all the elements of fine dining that you’ve made yourself. The Good Time Seekers
You’ll try anything once and are always looking for something fun to do, so why would your Valentine’s date be any different. If a good time is what you’re seeking for your Valentine’s day, why not try axe throwing, a trivia night or paint night. All involve having a good time while still being able to bond. After, you can head to a bar to grab a drink and something quick to eat.
The Fit Couple
If fitness is something you both enjoy doing and bond over, then make it apart of your Valentine’s day. Try a fitness class such as yoga where you can stretch your muscles and try out some couple poses. You can also go for a hike somewhere quiet which allows you to talk while getting in your steps. If fun and fitness are more your speed why not go to a trampoline amusement park and burn calories while having fun.
Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to try something new and find new ways to bond with your partner. Whatever type of couple you are all these date ideas can work for you if both of you are willing to explore different options. Valentine’s Day is meant for you to celebrate your relationship and show your appreciation for your partner, so try out some of these date ideas or some of your own.
