Fall Watch List: The Best of Netflix

fall

Welcome! Cassandra & Taylor here, and we’re collaborating to share with you what we’re recommending you watch this fall.

First things first, we have a couple of questions to ask you. Are you getting ready for the cozy seasons ahead? Have you already started watching more television shows and movies? Well, if you answered yes to either of the two, we can relate. The idea of sitting on the couch under a blanket with a variety of different snacks, whether it be by yourself, with a loved one or a friend, sounds really good. This is especially easy to do while you’re taking a break during teleworking hours, or if you are out and about and then tired from work when coming home.

With that, we’d love to share with you some options that we have already enjoyed ourselves. Below, you can find a list of some of our favourite shows and movies that we suggest. From romance to reality tv, to documentaries, we have you covered.

Romance

1. Sweet Magnolias

This show will make you feel all types of ways and will leave you wanting more. Sweet Magnolias follows three best friends as they open up a spa/wellness studio in their hometown. Did we mention these women are single and out on the lookout for love, more specifically Maddie, who is recently divorced? I loved this show and, I am so happy it’s been renewed for a second season. If you’ve binge-watched the show and are waiting for the second season like me, I recommend reading the books!

2. Love, Guaranteed

Everyone loves a good rom-com. If you love hallmark movies then you’ll love this Netflix original. It follows Susan a lawyer who fights for the little guy, unfortunately fighting for the little guy doesn’t pay the bills. So in order to save her small law firm from going under, she takes on a high-paying case from a guy who wants to sue a dating service. I loved this movie and it wasn’t overly cheesy like I expected it to be which was nice. It’s the perfect film for fall to cozy up on the couch.

Reality TV

1. Selling Sunset

This is currently my favourite show. If you love reality television and luxurious properties, then this is for you. I enjoy getting to see the insides of these million-dollar homes. They are always designed with such beautiful detailing. Even the event planning for their parties and the weddings are fun to watch from behind the scenes.

Mary and Maya are my two favourite cast members. Christine, on the other hand, brings a lot of drama into the mix. All in all, it’s interesting to see what happens inside the office and their lives every day. I do not want to spoil too much, so I’ll leave it at that.

2. Million Dollar Beach House

This doesn’t compare to Selling Sunset, but it did help to fill the void. Again, you are shown beautiful million-dollar homes and what it is like to be a real estate agent in the area. One of the agents has a newborn baby, while others are at very different stages in their careers. Drama ensues and, you will quickly find out that Noel is a real treat.

Documentaries

1. Down to Earth with Zac Efron

I don’t know about you, but whenever I see anything with Zac Efron in it, I have to watch it. Isn’t it against the law not to? Anyways, this documentary was a pleasant surprise. I never had an idea of what Zac Efron was like as a human being since he was always playing the role of a character in a film. I mean, I still technically have never met him in person, but he really does seem so down to earth in this.

If you enjoy learning about different cultures and their ways of living, then definitely check out this documentary. It is so cool to see Zac Efron travel the world and learn about interesting facts that a lot of people don’t usually think about. What really hit home for me was watching him learn about mineral water. I always just assumed that all water was healthy for me and that I should drink a lot of it. I did not know that water could possibly get rid of minerals that do naturally exist within my body. Luckily enough, before watching this documentary, I have loved Perrier water for over a year now and drink 3-4 cans a day.

2. Unwell

Are you into essential oils? About 6 months ago, I purchased a Saje diffuser. Essential oils we’re never something I thought to research, I had just assumed that they were healthy. I have to admit to letting my diffuser run throughout the day. The oils make my bedroom smell like an oasis. I find it very calming, especially before going to bed. I enjoy scents with lavender or orange in them. After watching this documentary about essential oils and pyramid schemes, I am not quite sure what to believe. Currently, I still think that Saje products are natural, but this documentary will definitely get you thinking.
