Ah! The weather is getting warmer. This means that it is almost time to swim and/or tan (maybe where you are, you’re already doing so, however I’m here in Ottawa, Ontario). Whether you will be at a beach or in your backyard, I have you covered with bathing suit recommendations for summer 2021! Now I know, trying on a bathing suit again during this time of year can be uncomfortable. Shopping for them (especially online) can also be just as difficult. Before we dive into this blog, I am here to remind you that all body shapes and sizes are beautiful. Everyone deserves to feel genuinely happy and confident in a cute bathing suit.
Down below, I am listing bathing suit recommendations that I absolutely adore. The bathing suit trends for this summer include: a lot of strings, one-shoulders, cut-outs, two-tone metallics and more.
1. Monday Swimwear’s Oat Crinkle Bikini Set
If you are looking for a bikini that is simple yet chic, and can be worn many times, then this is an excellent choice. I warn you, however, if you’re looking for a lot of coverage, this isn’t the best choice, but I got you covered further in the post. The oat colour of this set is lovely. It can pair beautifully with thin black or brown sandals and gold jewelry. It also helps to bring out a tan or darker skin that much more. The style is definitely a hot trend right now! The material itself is very lightweight and comfortable.
2. Aerie’s Jacquard Bikini Set
I really like this neutral beige and white pattern. I believe it would look great on any skin tone. The design isn’t too wild, in case you don’t normally gravitate towards different kinds of prints, but are still wanting to try something new. This set is sturdy with wide straps, offering a bit more coverage. It also includes a small cut-out and a cute bow. I think if you are expecting to go swimming or boating, this would work great. It is on sale right now, and in terms of price, it seems to be a cheaper option in comparison to other brands which is also another plus!
3. Frankie’s Sweet Pea Set
If you are looking for some colour and trying to stand out, this is it. If you are going to invest in a bathing suit, then Frankie’s is reliable. I ordered a basic black and then a basic white bikini set from them. I know I will have them for years to come. They have a lot of neon and two-tone options right now as well which are very popular. Something that also seems to be on social media quite a bit are bikinis with many string detailing. I think this pink floral pattern is pretty and fun.
4. Shein
I can always count on Shein when I’m trying to budget and save money. It is possible to do a haul and not break the bank. Shein prices are unbeatable for the quality that they provide. They also have every different colour and pattern under the sun. I am linking a bandeau option in “coffee brown” which is great for bathing on a tanning chair. I think it would look extra cute with a headscarf and some brown sunnies.
5. Sea-Level Frill One-Piece Swimsuit
If you want coverage, this right here is an excellent choice. I will always love a one-piece for those days where you want to be under a beach umbrella or by the pool, while staying in the shade and perhaps reading a book. I particularly like that this has some frill detailing, without being too much. Of course, wearing black may be a bit much, especially if it is scorching hot outside. If you are worried about being able to find shade, then Nordstrom also has some great one-piece options in light greys and whites.
Now that we’re done with the list, I hope that you liked my bathing suit recommendations for summer 2021 and end up treating yourself. Please note, I just linked the tops for the most of them as they sell their pieces separately, but it is easy to find the matching other half. If you browse through these 5 websites that are linked, you will notice the numerous one-shoulders and metallic styles, which I certainly encourage you to explore. If you have some finds, please don’t hesitate to share them with us too! May your summer be so much fun. One more thing, don’t forget sun hats and sunscreen!!
