For those of us living in Canada, we know that for almost eight months of the year, we are (not so patiently) waiting for summer to come. This means when summer finally does arrive, we’re spending every chance we get up at the cottage or outside. So it’s no surprise that many of us put our beauty routine on the back burner, but what if it didn’t have to?
Today, I’m sharing my list of beauty must haves for summer 2020 and an added bonus is, they’ll save you time getting ready, so you can spend more time outside without sacrificing your beauty routine. Be ready for anything with these six beauty must haves below and don’t worry you’ve still got time to stock up before summer 2020 hits full swing.
1. Sunscreen
Sunscreen should be the number one thing apart of your beauty routine, especially in the summer. If you want to avoid signs of ageing, quickly put on the sunscreen before you apply your makeup. I personally love the Aveeno sunscreen, but any sunscreen brand will do. Just make sure to purchase one that is specifically for your face.
2. Amika High Tide Deep Wave Hair Crimper
Want to have effortless beach waves without jumping into a salty ocean or drenching it in those salt sprays from the drugstore? Then definitely purchase this hair crimper. You can thank me later. This crimper is quick and makes styling your hair so easy. Besides, beach waves and summertime just make sense.
3. TOO FACED Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara
I swear by this mascara and always get compliments when I use it. I love that it makes my lashes look natural and not too clumpy. The best part is that it’s ACTUALLY waterproof, unlike some brands that tend to run even when they claim to be waterproof.
4. Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse with Brush
On the topic of waterproof, this is my favourite brow product and its WATERPROOF. You read that right, it’s waterproof. Don’t believe me? I hate to admit this but I’ve woken up with perfect brows because I’ve forgotten to wash my face before bed. If you buy one of these products from my list, it definitely needs to be this one.
5. The Revlon one Step Hair Dryer
Brooklyn has been raving about this hair dryer for months, and I can see why. It’s amazing and a time-saver. If you’re not a fan of the beach waves, then this hair dryer is for you. Have the perfect blowout without the work. This product does all the heavy lifting while you sit back and watch it happen. You’ll feel put together and ready for the day.
6. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid
It seems like everyone is raving about The Ordinary and I can see why. It’s an amazing skincare brand that is low in cost. If you buy one product from this brand, let it be this one. When discussing with a friend of mine, who is an aesthetician, she explained that hyaluronic acid should be in everyone’s skincare routine as this is something a body slowly stops producing as we age. So, spend seven dollars and purchase this product. Your skin will thank you.
