This is a little list of things and a small piece of advice, that have allowed me to reach my “new normal” while working from home. It’s going to take some time for everyone to adjust but maybe some of what has worked for me, can work for you too. I hope you’re all staying well.đź’•
The Revlon one step hair dryer
For me getting up and getting ready every morning is so important in my work from home routine. I don’t however want to spend hours on my hair but I want to feel “put together.” The Revlon one step hair dryer has done just that for me. I have been raving to all of my friends about it since I got it a month ago. It gives you the same look of a blow out, in 15 minutes flat with an excellent price tag. Trust me if you’re missing that “put together” feeling but can’t be bothered to spend a whole bunch of time to get it, this one’s for you. I used to swear by my round brush but I understand that many have a hard time mastering that art. Now I just use this baby and it’s all I need.
The ever so versatile Wunder UnderÂ
Their tag line is literally “start your day fully supported” and think we can all use a little support right now. These are the cadillac of leggings and SO versatile. You can wear them all day while you’re working, right into your zoom yoga or evening jog. I personally opt for the highwaisted version, I have another pair that are lower rise and I can definitely say that I feel way better in the high waisted ones. They are stretchy and supportive and everything I need right now. If you’re looking for a pair of leggings to be your new work uniform, check these out.
Bb gel
I like I am sure many, have my skin thanking me for allowing it to be so free these past few weeks. I admittedly have only put on one full face of makeup since I started working from home on March 13th. When I have conference calls or zoom meetings and I am feeling like I need something a little more than my bare skin I have been opting for this clinique bb gel. Firstly, the Clinique line is one that I have been using since I was in 9th grade so I am a brand loyalist. Secondly, this cream has just enough tint to give you a light glow and make everything look even. A word of caution, if you are super pale this probably won’t be the right product for you. I have a more tanned/pinkish skin tone and it works for me.
A cute inspiring mugÂ
We all need a little motivation and likely A LOT of coffee to get us through those long days. I am ever so thankful that I have a few cute and inspiring mugs that I look down at as I sip my coffee and work away. My personal favourite is this one that says, “I’m not bossy, I’m the boss.” There are so many cute ones on amazon that you can find here. The way I see it, if you are going to drink copious amounts of coffee it may as well be out of a cute mug. Plus some of these are REALLY funny and I’m always looking for a reason to laugh.
TO STAY POSITIVEÂ
This one you can’t buy. It’s priceless. The world is very different, we are learning our “new normal.” Everyone has different feelings towards the future but the one thing I want to stress is that staying positive is going to make it much easier to do your work. Turn off the news, open the window, get some sun shine, sip your coffee out of your cute mug, move your body and don’t forget to find something to smile about. Then get it done. There are so many things that are out of our control right now, so focus on you and staying healthy. Sometimes laughter really is the best medicine.Â
These are just a few products and “things” that have helped me have a better more “normal” work from home experience. Take as many or as few as you’d like. Alex has some tips on everything you need for a home work out, you can check them out here. OH, and I’m sure you’ve heard it a million times but, girl, wash your hands.
