Christmas is coming and finding the perfect gift is ooohh so stressful! Especially when you’re gifting other adults, since many of us in North America are already blessed with having all the essentials for an overall comfortable life. So how can you gift someone who already has everything?! You don’t want to just give for the sake of giving and have them end up with something they already have or might not need/want, that will either end up regifted (let’s be honest, who here hasn’t regifted?) or tossed in your basement or in one of those black hole type of drawers? The gift that keeps on giving! I love the subscription box idea because there are so many options out there for all budgets and tastes. It is also so much fun to receive a new gift every month. Who doesn’t love unpacking goodies and getting something in the mail other than bills!? There are many beauty and fashion subscription boxes options for women. 2. Magazine subscription
So what if the person you need to shop for is not into “things”? That is absolutely my husband. I show up with random little gifts throughout the year to come home to a not overly excited but always polite husband “thank you sweetheart, it was nice of you”, then I never see him wearing the gift or using it. My husband is not in to “things” at all. What makes him happy is “knowledge.” He loves to read. Breakfast, lunch and dinner with a side of Reading please?! That’s his style. So a subscription to a magazine like National Geographic (Nat Geo History 6 issues for $24) or The Economist ($12 for 12 weeks or $199/year) would totally be something he would appreciate. There are so many good options out there and are all so affordable. It could be fashion, cooking, home design, crafts, economy, politics, whatever. Have your pick. And again, it’s fun to receive something every month!
3. Wine subscription
This is another one of my favourite gifts that keeps on giving! There are multiple companies out there with good options. You can pick red or white or a combo of one of each. You can also add specialty cheeses to go with it. I absolutely think this is a great gift idea for a couple. It’s amazing to receive a specially picked bottle of wine and cheese to enjoy as a couple on a weekend evening after putting kids to bed. Or maybe at the end of a long work week. All there is left is to order some take out, and crack open that bottle of wine and get some crackers for the cheese. Add some Netflix to it and you have the perfect date night at home evening with your lover, friend or solo!

4. Khloe Kardashian’s Cookie Jar
Ok, this is my obsession as of lately. Have you seen Khloe Kardashian’s cookie jars? Yes, she is considering getting rid of them now because EVERYONE is copying her (with good reason!!) but we are not too late to jump on the bandwagon ourselves. Rather than showing up with a bottle of wine only to next dinner you are invited to, why not show up with this cookie jar! Especially if your friends have children. It will for sure be a conversation starter. If you are a good baker, make the cookies yourself. Me, not so much, but I know places that sell good cookies (hello, do you even know me? Cookie Monster Lady over here!). Also, the jar is amazing and once cookies are done it will for sure get multiple lives with its new owners (I am so guilty of this).

5. Event tickets (optional: with restaurant gift card)
Life is about experiences not possessions. At least, that is how I see it and apparently how most millennials do too (Not making it up. Check out this article). Therefore, what better idea than gifting a concert ticket to that person’s favourite band or perhaps he/she is more into theatre and you know of an upcoming play happening in town? Depending on the ticket cost and your budget perhaps you can add a gift card to their favourite restaurant as well.
